Dimensions

On the Dimensions tab of the Annotation Set form, you can customise the appearance of the dimension lines you create, specify label text properties, add a prefix or a suffix to the dimension text, and set line styles and angle units.

Text Label

Text properties

Double-click on the Text Properties Preview box to select a font and set text properties for the labels.

Colour

Double-click to select a Colour for the text labels.

Precision

For numeric values, specify the level of decimal precision for the displayed measurements.

Prefix and Suffix

If you want to add a prefix or a suffix to the labelled text, enter values in the boxes provided.

Alignment

Select an alignment option for the text label:

Mixed The label is aligned horizontally (except for diagonal annotation lines which have labels that follow the orientation of the line).
Horizontal The label is aligned horizontally.
With dimension line The label is aligned to match the orientation of the dimension line.

Note that angle annotations currently only support a horizontal text alignment.

Vertical placement

Choose a vertical placement option for the text label:

Centred The label is positioned on the line, breaking the line in two.
Above The label is positioned above the line.
Outside The label is positioned above or below the line, depending on which side is furthest from the base point of the annotation.
Below The label is positioned below the line.

Note that, for some annotations, a horizontal text alignment may override an Above or Below vertical placement.

Horizontal placement

Choose a horizontal placement option for the text label:

Centred The label is centred between the ends of the annotation.
At Ext Line 1 The label is positioned close to the starting point of the annotation.
At Ext Line 2 The label is positioned close to the ending point of the annotation.

Note: If you select an At Extension Line 1 or At Extension Line 2 Horizontal Text Placement and the dimension annotation is too small for the label, the label is moved out on that side.
