Symbology
Colour, hatch, line, and symbol sets enable you to code values, points, symbols, hatches and lines. Colour, hatch, line, and symbol coding is applied according to the values of a Symbology Field and can be used to differentiate between the changing values in a dataset.
For example, you might:
- Use a different collar symbol depending on the prefix of the Hole ID (DDH*, RC*, RAB* etc.). See: Wildcards
- Colour code assays according to their value
- Use different hatch patterns to display downhole lithology
- Use a line set to display inferred, indicated, and measured classification zones
When you open a colour, hatch, line, or symbol set, you can do two things:
- Edit an existing set. Any changes you make will be automatically saved
- Create an entirely new set
You can open colour, hatch, line, or symbol sets in two ways:
- From a Properties form. This is the most common method
- From the Tools menu, for example: Tools | Colour sets | Text
There are two types of colour, hatch, line, or symbol set:
When you display objects in Vizex, a legend toolbar allows you to view the colours, hatches, lines, and symbols that have been applied to your display objects.
