Extract Seam Information

Case Study: ATLAS Project

A simple ATLAS data set consisting of 2 seams is used to illustrate the basic modelling process. A fault has been identified and polygons have been digitised to force the modelling process to treat each fault zone independently.

Other modelling steps, not included in the ATLAS workflow, are shown for completeness.

On the Stratigraphic tab, in the Seams group: Click Generate Seam File to extract the intervals that define seams in a more generic (typically lithology) Interval file.

• Input is an Interval file.

• Output is a file summarising all Seam information, with appropriate fields:

• An optional Formation field is used to define seam “groups”.
• An optional Description field explains the origin of each record.
