Libraries

  1. Click Project to open the backstage menu and: Select Project | Libraries to view and manage your project libraries.

Alternatively, you can click the Libraries button in the project information at the right:

Files that are outside of the project can be organised into a set of libraries, and referenced using the Library definition. If the files are moved from the configured location, the library definitions can be easily updated to point to the new locations.

Defined libraries can be included as special locations in the Project Explorer Pane.

The Manage Project Libraries form displays a list of the configured Libraries and paths in your project.

To add a Library to your project:

  1. Click the Add button in the Manage Project Libraries grid toolbar.

Tip: You can also double click a blank area of the grid.

The Add Library Reference form opens.

  2. Enter a Name for the Library in the field provided.

  3. In the Default Path field, press F3 or double click in the field to enter the location of the Library. The default path is used if no custom path is supplied. The default path is shared by all users of a project.

  4. The Custom Path field can be used to overwrite the Default Path for the local machine without affecting other users of the same project.

The custom path overrides the default path when supplied. The custom path is local to the current machine and can be used when your library directory is in a different location to other users of the same project.

  5. If you select the Replace existing filepaths with library name option, hard-coded filepaths that match the filepath of a library, will be replaced with the library name.

The library names can also be replaced with filepaths when removing a library reference, if the Remove and Replace option is selected in the prompt:

  6. Click OK to add the library.

A prompt will be displayed to indicate the progress of the remapping.

Libraries can be edited or removed using the buttons in the Manage Project Libraries grid. Alternatively, you can double click on a populated row in the grid to open the Modify Library Reference form:

To manually remap a library,

  1. Select it from the grid, and

  2. Click the Remap button at the right of the form.

  1. Click Yes to proceed.
