Split String

1. On the Design tab, in the Editing group: Click Split String to split an open string or a closed string (polygon) into two strings.

   

2. Click a point on the string where you would like to split it. Hold down the CTRL key to perform a Polygon Split.

   

3. Click a second point on the string to finish the split:

   

   The split strings can be selected individually:

   

Partial String Selection

When a partial selection is active, the tool will automatically split the string at the points representing the beginning and end of the selection.

Polygon Split

1. Hold down the CTRL key as you click on a closed string where you want to split it.

   

2. Click a second point on the string to finish the split:

   

   The split polygons can be selected individually:

   

Note: If the selected string is not closed, a Split String operation is performed.
