Build Wireframe

The Vizex display is put into Wireframing mode when you click New, or select a Triangulation mode on the Wireframe tab or the Vizex | Wireframing tab, in the Build Wireframe group.

You may be prompted to select a triangulation layer or a tie lines (string) layer as the active layer. To set the current layer as the active layer, right-click on the layer in the Vizex Layer Display pane and select Active Layer.

  • Click New, or select a Triangulation mode, to put the Vizex display into Wireframing mode.

    The icon shown for the Build Wireframe tool will depend on the [New] Triangulation Mode selected.

  • On the Vizex | Wireframing tab, in the Build Wireframe group: Click Auto Build to auto build a wireframe from two or more selected closed polygons.

  • On the Vizex | Wireframing tab, in the Build Wireframe group: Select Auto Build | Auto Tie Lines to generate tie lines by connecting common features of adjacent input polygons.

  • Click Update to update a wireframe to match one or more updated construction strings.

    One of two modes may be selected: Replace (the default) and Infill:

  • click Close Holes to automatically close all open sections in the selected wireframe or wireframes.

  • select Close End to create a surface bounded by the selected polygon.

  • select Close to Point to triangulate from the selected polygon to a user-defined point.

  • Click New Tie Line to create a new tie line.

    You can Select Active Tie Lines at any time using the menu alongside the New Tie lines button:
