Seam Correlation

  1. On the Drillhole tab, in the View group: Click Seam Correlation to digitise a seam correlation fence order from loaded drillhole layers.

  2. If a valid Drillhole layer is not open, you will be prompted to open one. This layer will be used to select the holes you want to correlate:
  3. If one or more compatible layers are available, you will be prompted to select a new or existing Correlation layer as the target layer:

(Note that the chosen Correlation layer becomes the default layer when you subsequently use this tool.)

  1. If prompted to do so, select the target drillhole database:
  2. If an existing Correlation layer has been chosen, the database is auto-selected.

If a new Correlation layer has been created and there is one database associated with the layers open in Vizex, that database is auto-selected.

If a new Correlation layer has been created and there is more than one database associated with the layers open in Vizex, you will be prompted to select a target database:

(Note that the chosen database becomes the default for that Correlation layer when you subsequently use this tool.)

  1. The chosen Drillhole database is used to filter the Drillhole layers that are open in Vizex:
  2. If the database is associated with a layer that is loaded (in the Vizex Layer Display pane) but is not visible, it is made visible.

If the database is NOT associated with any of the open layers, an error message is displayed.

  1. When a Drillhole layer, a Correlation layer, and an associated Drillhole Database have been identified, Correlation mode is activated in the display.
  2. Use the mouse to snap from collar to collar. A line is rubber-banded between the selected collars.
  3. Double-click when selecting the last collar to complete the process, or right click to finish (and invoke the Seam Correlation form), or press the ESC key to cancel the operation.

If the Correlation layer is an existing layer, the Display tab is displayed, the Correlation - By Holes - Fences option is selected by default, and the data grid is populated with the holes you have interactively selected.

If the Correlation layer is a new layer AND the database specified in the Input tab of the form matches the database associated with the layer, the defaults on the Input tab are applied and the Display tab is displayed (as above).

If the Correlation layer is a new layer and the database specified in the Input tab of the form DOES NOT MATCH the database associated with the Correlation layer, you must enter new defaults on the Input tab.
