Show Data Ranges

On the Stats tab, in the Exploratory Data Analysis group: Click Show Data Ranges to check the minimum and maximum values for all numeric fields in a file.

Show Data Ranges produces exactly the same results as MinMax, with the exception that you cannot calculate the natural log of values using MinMax.

Input

File

In the Normal and Ln Min Max form, select a file Type and enter (or double-click to select) the name of the File containing the source values. If required, define a Filter to selectively control which records to process.

Mode

Select whether you want to see the normal or natural logs of the data. Remember that natural logs will be calculated and displayed for all numeric fields including those containing coordinates.

Select either NORMAL or LOG NORMAL as the mode. If you select LOG NORMAL each value will be converted to its natural log form before being used in the calculation.

Numeric Exceptions

(Optionally) Use the Numeric Exceptions group to control the way that non-numeric values are handled. Non-numeric values include characters, blanks, and values preceded by a less than sign (<).

Report file

When you write the results to an existing report file that does not have the distribution table structure, the existing data in the file will be overwritten. To append the results to the end of an existing report file it must have the correct distribution table structure.

Enter (double-click or click on the Select icon) to select the name of the Report File that will be written as a result of the process. To see the contents of the file, right-click in the file box and select View (F8).

The Report Viewer is opened for any Statistical function that generates a Report file. Click the Form button on the Viewer toolbar to re-open the form, adjust the parameters of the Statistical calculation, and then choose to overwrite or append to the output in the Viewer window.

Forms

Click the Forms button to select and open a saved form set, or if a form set has been loaded, save the current form set.

Run

Finally, click the Run button to run the function. The calculated values will be displayed in an Information window.
