Tools
The following tools are available on the Grid / DTM tab, in the DTM Tools group:
-
Click Validate DTM to run Wireframe Validation and check that each selected surface is a valid DTM.
-
Click Volume (Cut and Fill) to calculate the volume or the cut and fill volumes between two triangulated surfaces, two triangulated surfaces and a range of elevations, or one triangulated surface and an elevation.
-
Click Seam Thickness to generate a DTM in which the Z values represent the thickness, using two input DTMs which represent the Floor and Roof of a seam. In addition, you can generate a file that contains the thickness at each point. If you choose to generate contours, these will be displayed and may be written to a file.
-
Click Trim Edges to select an input surface DTM and trim the edges, where those edges are over-length or have narrow angles.
-
click Clip (form) to clip a DTM (or a surface wireframe), using the polygons or polylines in a Clipping Polygons file.
-
Click Boundary Strings to create a String file containing the boundaries of the wireframes you have selected in the Generate Boundary Strings form.
-
Click Generate Z Values to calculate the Z values for any points within the area of an existing DTM. This provides a way of determining elevations for known collar locations.
-
Click DTM Reconciliation to generate cut/fill solids between a series of surfaces.
