Generate

On the Scheduling | Schedule tab, in the Reports group: Click Generate to generate task, resource, dependency, attribute, and diagnostic reports for a given time period, for the current schedule.

Defaults are provided when using the form for the first time (or when the form is reset). When a Report cell is changed, the Output filename is re-evaluated from the expression (if the Use Expression check box is ticked).

Report

Choose a report from the drop-down list of reports provided. Use the buttons on the local toolbar to Manage the rows in the list.

Diagnostics

The Diagnostics report flags a number of conditions that might be errors in the schedule. These include tasks without a start date or duration, tasks that have neither resources nor a default rate, over/under allocation of a resource to tasks, validation expression failures, and tasks without associated wireframes.

Report Generator

Double-click or click on the form set icon, to use a Report Generator form set to generate and format a report.

Note that when you are generating a Scheduling or a Resource Estimation report which references a Report Generator form set, Micromine and Excel output report options on the Output tab of the Report Generator form are disabled.

When you use the Report Generator to generate a report, the fields in the input file can be reformatted and re-sequenced before being written to the report. New fields can be created, or be derived using complex expressions, and added to the report. The report data can be filtered and grouped, based on the criteria you specify, and aggregated using various methods.

If no form set is specified in this column, then a report is generated based upon the data source.

Report file

Specify the name of the file in which the report for the data source is to be saved.

Use Expression

(Optional.) In the Report File Expression box, specify the expression to be used to generate the names of the Report files. Click the buddy button on the left-hand side of the field to invoke the Expression Editor.

Schedule-specific and generic report metadata variables are available for selection in the Expression Editor:

You can use the check boxes in the Report Data Sources grid to apply the expression to one or more reports.

Run

When you have set up the reports you want to generate and, optionally, a report file expression, click Run to generate the reports.

Template

The Template button is only available for Template Forms. Template Forms inherit saved or previously used values.

Click the Template button to select and open a saved form set template.

Load Template

Click the Load Template button to select and open a saved template to populate the fields of the form.

Save Template

Click the Save Template button to save the details of the current form as a template that can be loaded at a later time.

Manage

Click the Manage button to open the Template Forms manager which can be used to open, save, delete, import and export the template forms for your project.

Undo and Redo

Click Undo (CTRL + Z) to undo recent changes in the form. After an Undo, click Redo (CTRL + Y) to restore the last change that was undone.

Collapse

Collapse (roll-up) the form to preview a chart, or preview the results of an operation in Vizex, or obtain input values from Vizex, the Property Window, the File Editor, or the Plot Editor.
