Setup
The Ring Design Setup tool is used to configure the settings for your ring design. When creating a new design, only a name (which can be Untitled) and optionally a template is required to get started:
All other settings are configured with the Setup tool. These setup options are stored in the Ring Design file. Prior to Micromine Origin & Beyond version 2025.5, these settings were stored in form sets in the FLDVAL.BDB file within the project folder.
If you open an existing file created in an older version (prior to 25.5), the setups will be migrated from the form sets in the FLDVAL.BDB file of your project folder and marked with a change indicator (*) in the Vizex Layer Display window. Data for the design can be viewed by opening the Setup form.
Additionally, if you open a file created in version 25.5 or later with an older version such as 25.0, a warning message will appear, notifying you that the setup data may be lost.
Use the tabs of the Setup form to set the parameters of your ring design.
