Attributes to Assign

Use the Attributes to Assign page to assign up to ten wireframe attributes to the fields in the associated data file. To do this you must map the wireframe attributes to the names of the fields in the file. In each row of the table enter or select (F3) an attribute name and the field to which it will be assigned.

New fields to which wireframe attributes are assigned are created according to the values being assigned. If all values are numbers, the field in the block model file will be created with a Numeric type. Otherwise, the field type will be Character. Fields are created wide enough to accommodate the longest value.

Assign Attributes for Blocks

These inputs are enabled when Volume factor is chosen as the assignment method on the Wireframes page of the form.

Minimum volume factor

Optionally enter a Minimum volume factor value. For example, you may only want to assign values when at least 20% of the block is within the wireframe.

If no Minimum volume factor value is specified, attributes are assigned for all blocks touching the wireframe. Otherwise, the attributes are assigned if the factor value is greater than or equal to the specified minimum value.

Assign Priority

Assign Priority is available when using the Volume Factor method and is important when more than one wireframe intersects a block. The Assign Priority setting can be used to control which wireframe the block is assigned attributes from.

Option Description
Ordered Based on the order in the wireframe set: If overwrite is enabled, the last wireframe is used, otherwise the first wireframe is used.
Majority The wireframe with the highest volume factor will be used.

Overwrite target field

Select this option to overwrite the values in the target field.
