Edit Data

On the File tab, in the Edit Data group:

• Click Sort to sort a file by the values in one or more fields. Given the sequential nature of string data, be careful when sorting strings. Make sure there is a field in the file that can be used to unsort the data.

• Click Calculate (Expression) to select the file you want to perform a dynamic expression calculation on. Field name variables, constants and functions are available for selection.

  

• Click Calculate to select the file you want to perform a calculation on. Common maths functions, and functions applicable to the management of earth science data, are provided.

  

• Click Numerical Preparation to perform an advanced find and replace function on a data file for numerical data, based on rules.

  

• Click Rotation Fields Convert to convert rotation fields in a DAT file to another rotation convention, creating new fields in the file.

  

• Use the functions on the Fields drop-down menu to summarise and update files using selected key fields.
