Compositing
On the Compositing tab of the Bench Compositing form, choose the dimension on which to composite and define the information to be composited.
Compositing
Direction
Choose the dimension on which you will composite – PLAN, EAST or NORTH. For Bench compositing select PLAN. To composite in vertical, rather than horizontal "benches", select either EAST or NORTH.
Definition planes
Choose how to define the intervals to be composited. When the composite direction is PLAN the highest and lowest benches are defined by their TOP, MIDDLE or BOTTOM Zs. When the composite direction is EAST (or NORTH) the intervals (slices) are defined by their START, MIDDLE or END Easting (or Northing) values.
Max Z or First East/North
This defines the Z, Easting or Northing of the initial composite interval. When the direction is PLAN, enter the Z value associated with the highest bench to be composited. The Z will represent the TOP, MIDDLE or BOTTOM of this bench, depending on which Definition plane has been selected. When the direction is EAST (or NORTH), enter the easting (or northing) of the START, MIDDLE or END for the first composite interval.
Min Z or Last East/North
This defines the Z, Easting or Northing of the final composite interval. When the direction is PLAN, enter the Z value associated with the lowest bench to be composited. The Z will represent the TOP, MIDDLE or BOTTOM of this bench, depending on which Definition plane has been selected. When the direction is EAST (or NORTH), enter the easting (or northing) of the START, MIDDLE or END for the last composite interval.
Bench height
If the direction is PLAN, enter the vertical compositing interval which typically corresponds to bench height. If the direction is EAST or NORTH, enter the (horizontal) width of the compositing interval.
Number of benches
Enter the number of "benches" to composite. This will modify the Min Z (Last East or Last North) so that it remains consistent with the Max Z (First East or First North) and Bench height (Composite width) parameters. Equally, this value is changed interactively if any of the other associated parameters are altered.
Minimum composite length
You can also define a minimum composite length. Compositing will not occur unless the new interval equals or exceeds this length.
Compositing - Default Method
Choose the default Compositing Method that will be applied to the Character and Numeric fields.
Compositing - Other methods
If you need to composite individual fields using different methods, select Other methods and then click the More button opposite. Select the fields that require individual treatment and set a compositing method for each.
