Clip Blastholes

On the Mining | Blast Design tab, in the Modify group: Click Clip to clip blasthole lengths to a reference wireframe.

The Clipping process will run automatically provided that the blastholes and the clipping wireframe are selected in the display. If you have not already selected the blastholes and a wireframe, you will prompted to do so by the Selection Assistant.

  1. Select the blastholes to clip and click on the Accept Selection button (or right-click).
  2. Alternatively, you can Digitise the required object/s using the button in the Selection Assistant toolbar. The Selection Assistant will close, providing access to the tools used to create the object.

You cannot load a wireframe or edit other objects while the display is in Clip mode.

  3. Select the clipping wireframe and click on the Accept Selection button (or right-click).
  4. The selected blastholes will be clipped to the reference wireframe:

The Clipping process works as follows:

  1. If a blasthole intersects the wireframe, it is clipped to the wireframe.
  2. If a blasthole does not intersect the wireframe:

Test if the collar or end of hole location falls within the wireframe extents (when viewed in plan).

  1. If either the collar or the end of hole falls within the extents of the wireframe, keep the hole but do not adjust its length.
  2. If the entire hole falls outside the wireframe, delete it.
