New Donut Polygon

1. On the Design tab, in the Create group: Click New Donut Polygon to begin digitising a new multi-part (donut) polygon from scratch.

   

   If the active edit layer is not set, you will be prompted to select the active layer:

   

2. You will be prompted to digitise the outer polygon. Right-click to continue (the polygon is auto-closed).

   

3. You will be prompted to digitise an inner polygon. Right-click to finish (the polygon is auto-closed).

   

4. You can continue to digitise inner polygons or right-click without digitising to finish:

   

Keep the inner polygon

To create a donut polygon and keep the inner polygon:

1. Select the outer polygon.

2. Select New Polygon Part from the right-click menu.

3. Enable snapping and digitise the inner polygon.

4. Select the outer and inner polygons and select Separate Polygon Parts from the right-click menu.
