Designed Pit

Use the Designed Pit form to check the adherence between the designed pit and the optimum pit.

Ultimately, using other tools in the application, a chart comparison can be made between a designed pit shell (or a series of designed pits) versus the optimum pit shell or nested pit shells. When running the analysis, a report is generated which details the mining and economic results for the designed pit or series of pits, based on the optimisation results.

Wireframe

Type

Double click (F3) or click the ellipsis in the Type field to select the wireframe type of the designed pit shell.

Name

Select the Name of the wireframe that represents the pit shell to be analysed. The analysis will be run on the chosen pit shell. This could be a pushback or the ultimate pit design.

Stage name

Select the attribute that contains the name of the stage.

Sort

Optionally, select a field to sort the Analysis report by. For example, you may choose to sort incrementally by Stage number.

Staged points file

Optionally, create or overwrite a Pit Point Shell File (PPSF) for the designed pit shell.

Points File

Select this option to use a PPSF as input to the analysis, typically when a wireframe of the designed pit is unavailable.

Please note that this file will not be the same file as the PPSF that is created by the Pit Optimiser.

East, North, Z fields

Specify the fields that contain the coordinates of the points (block centroids) in the PPSF.

Stage name

Specify the name of the file that contains the stage name for the points in the PPSF.

Extraction number

Specify the name of the file that contains the extraction number for the points (block centroids) in the PPSF.
