Solid Advance Direction

In the Project Explorer, right-click on a Table and select Utilities | Solid Advance Direction to set the advance direction of the solids on a selected node path and/or within a selected range. The advance direction can also be calculated based upon a defined vector (bearing and slope).

Insert

Select an option from the Insert drop-down menu (bottom left) or right-click in the window to select a command and then select the ranges:

Node

Select this option to insert a Node Path into the definition of the Solid Advance Direction.

Path

Select this option to calculate and insert the Solid Advance Direction for a selected Node Path and/or selected Solids.

Node Path

Use the drop-down to select parent node of the table structure. This will limit the application of the Solid Advance Direction to the solids under that node.

Fields

Use the drop-down to select one or more Solid fields.

Advance Direction

Use the drop-down to set the Bearing and Slope of a vector that will be used to set the Advance Direction for selected solids.

In Range

Select this option to insert a Range into the definition of the Solid Advance Direction.

To pass the filter, nodes must be in the specified range (or not).

In range: <Range1>

Not in range: <Range1>

Intersect Ranges

Select this option to insert Intersect Ranges into the definition of the Solid Advance Direction.

The Intersect Ranges command allows two or more specified ranges to be combined in a Boolean AND expression. To pass the filter, nodes must be in all specified ranges.

Intersect Ranges: <Range1, Range2…RangeN>

Union Ranges

Select this option to insert Union Ranges into the definition of the Solid Advance Direction.

The Union Ranges command allows two or more specified ranges to be combined in a Boolean OR expression. To pass the filter, nodes must be in at least one of the specified ranges.

Union Ranges: <Range1, Range2…RangeN>

Apply

Click Apply to apply the Solid Advance Direction (or Cancel). You will be prompted to preserve (or overwrite) any existing Solid Advance Direction settings for the solids you have selected.

Once you have applied a change using the Solid Advance Direction tool you will need to Reload Solids on the Animation window.
