Run External Program

On the Script tab, in the Macro Commands group: Select Utilities | Run External Program to run a batch file or external program. You can also use file associations to open any Windows compatible file, for example a PDF file or a PowerPoint (.PPT) file.

External File

Click on the ellipsis button to select the name of the batch file (.BAT) or program (.EXE) you want to run, or the name of some other file you want to open.

Target Folder

While you may choose to leave this input blank and specify both a filepath and a file name in the External File box, the Target Folder option provides a way to separate the file name from the filepath. This is a useful option when you need to process many different files in the same folder.

Absolute (full) or relative (to the current project) filepaths can be specified.

Arguments

Up to 4 arguments or pass parameters may be specified for the batch file or the program you want to run.
