Engineering Plots

On the Design tab, in the Overlay group: Select Engineering Plots to configure and visualise Engineering Plot Diagrams.

Save As

Click Save As to save a plot layout based on current settings.

You can manage the plot layouts you have saved when you Edit Settings.

Import

Right-click on the Engineering Plot Layout node and select Import Settings to import an engineering plot layout that was previously exported in XML file format.

You can manage the list of plot layouts via the navigation pane right-click menu. Options to Insert Copy, Copy, Rename, Delete and Export are provided:

Export

Right-click on an Engineering Plot Layout and select Export Settings to export an engineering plot layout in XML file format.

Edit Settings

To create or edit an Engineering Plot Layout, there are two steps:

  1. Click Edit Settings to set the Engineering Plot Layout for the Plot Layout you have selected in the Engineering Plots selection pane.

  2. Use the Edit Settings drop-down menu to set global Engineering Plot Settings that apply to all plot layouts. You can also use the drop-down menu to Redraw, Add or Reposition a Scalebar, Export and Hide or Show the selected layout.

The same options are available when you right-click in the Animation Window and select Design > Overlay > Engineering Plots:

Redraw

Refresh the Plot Layout to reflect changes made to the Animation Layout.

Add/Reposition Scale Bar

Add a scale bar to the displayor move the mouse to interactively reposition an existing scale bar in the display. Click the mouse to set its new position.

Export Shapes

Select this option to export shapes to a new layer. An "Engineering Plots <n>" named layer is created under Layers in the Design Data pane.

Show/Hide

Select this option to toggle the display of overlays on and off (you can also do this by clicking the Engineering Plots icon when visualisation is enabled).

Cancel

Click Cancel to disable Engineering Plot Visualisation and hide the drop-down menu.
