Increment One/Many

On the File | File Editor tab, in the Edit Records group: Use Increment One (CTRL + A) and Increment Many (CTRL + SHIFT + A) to increment field values in successive records of a file.

This option is also available on the Lookup Table Editor tab for Lookup Tables.

Increment can operate on both numeric and alphanumeric (character) fields.

On the General tab of the Options | System | Editor Options form, you can select an option to increment the last numeric component of a field when incrementing Character fields.

For example, the Hole ID VS2012_001 will be incremented as VS2012_002. If this option is not selected, the first (leftmost) numeric component of each field value will be incremented. For example, the Hole ID VS2012_001 will be incremented as VS2013_001.

On the File | File Editor tab, in the Edit Mode group: Click Define Increment to define the increment value used by the Increment One and Increment Many functions.
