Paste Transpose

Once records or blocks of fields (cells) are copied or cut to the clipboard, you can use the Paste Transpose command to paste and transpose rows as columns and vice-versa.

Note that the values copied to the clipboard from columns or rows must be of a compatible type that can be transposed. The number of transposed rows cannot exceed the number of columns in the file.

To Paste Transpose the records or the block of cells you have copied to the clipboard:

  1. Select the cell at the top left corner of the block of data to be transposed or select a block of cells of the same size as the clipboard data. The transposed data will overwrite existing data in those cells.
  2. On the File | File Editor tab, in the Clipboard group: Select Paste Transpose to paste and transpose the contents of the clipboard..

This option is also available on the Lookup Table Editor tab for Lookup Tables.
