Subtract Polygons

On the Shape tab, in the Split/Merge group: Click Subtract Polygons to subtract one or more polygons from another polygon or set of polygons. (Ctrl+P,P)

Do the following:

  1. Choose a screen plane. Note that this will be used as the subtraction plane.

    Plan Use Plan View (looking top down).
    Camera Use the current Camera view.

    * The current plane of the view in the Design Window is not changed.

  1. (Optional) Select the Use Tolerance check box to apply a tolerance to the operation. Enter (or use the increment controls to specify) a Tolerance value.

  1. Select the input shape:

  1. Select the shape to subtract:

  1. Finally, click Apply to perform the subtraction:

    Check that the result of the operation is what you expect. If necessary, use CTRL+Z to undo.
