Plot Font Size
The default font size (set as part of your Options | Colours & Fonts) will always be plotted using the Plot Label Height value that is set in the Plot Editor.
Any font sizes you set in Vizex are divided by the default font size and multiplied by the Plot Label Height. If you set a 20pt font size in Vizex, for example, and the default font size is 10 pt, and the Plot Label Height is 2 mm, the font size used for the plot will be (20 / 10) * 2mm = 4mm. In other words, you have specified a font size which is twice the size of the default font size.
The font size used for plotting can also be affected by setting a value other than 1.0 in the Plot Label Factor field (when you click the Size Factors button in the Plot Editor).
How are fonts applied in the Plot Editor?
When you enter the Plot Editor, there are two ways in which fonts can be applied to the plot:
- You have created a plot which has labels in Vizex.
In this case, the plot file contains TEXTFONT commands which are applied to the labels. The fonts applied to these existing labels cannot be changed using the Font Settings in the Size Factors dialog.
However, if you add a new label to the plot (by selecting the Labels | Add menu option in the Plot Editor Preview window), then the font currently selected in the Size Factors dialog will be applied to the new label.
- You have created a plot which has no labels in Vizex, or you have created a plot using a non-Vizex display (such as Drillhole | Quick Log).
In this case, the plot file does not contain TEXTFONT commands because it either has no labels, or has old-style labels for which there are no font definitions. Any labels you add to the plot will use the font currently selected in the Size Factors dialog. No font commands are stored in the plot file.
