Support for Grid (Raster) Data

Third-party grid (raster) file formats are supported for import and display in Vizex.

Import

On the File tab, in the Import group: Click Grid (Raster) Data to import a file in third-party grid file format and convert it to Micromine Grid Surface (*.GRD) file format.

In the case of a multi band dataset only ONE band can be imported.

64-bit data cannot be converted into 32-bit Micromine Grid format. If you want to import 64-bit data, you must first use GIS or image processing software to re-scale the data to 32-bits or less.

You can also display the same grid formats directly in Vizex by loading them via Display | Grid File. Some grid formats can also be displayed as images in Vizex (see below).

Display

More third-party grid file formats can now be opened as images in Vizex. While some formats were partly supported, they did not support all possible combinations of bit depth or number of bands.

New georeference sources are supported for the new formats. It is also possible to override them using the TAB, World, and ERS georeference files already supported by the application.

When a grid file of the appropriate type, bit depth, and number of bands is chosen, you can now colour code the grid display by selecting an existing colour set or defining a new one. Colours are assigned to each cell according to the cell value.
