Importing Files to Assay Buffer
The Importing files to Assay Buffer option in the Workflow Options screen is used to import sample files to the Assay Buffer tables.
Importing files to the Assay Buffer, rather than promoting data to the main tables, provides a secure interim state in the receipt process so that new metadata can be quickly exposed, and/or processing can be paused if actions or QAQC are required. Paused receipts can then be promoted at a later time using the method outlined in Promoting Data from Assay Buffer.
