Cables

The Cables step allows users to configure what types of electrical cables and site grids are available on site.

This step is only available if the Electrical Infrastructure check box has been ticked on in Settings.

  • Click the blue plus icon to add a new cable type to the project.

  • Click on the New Cable row to change its name.

  • Re-order cables in the list using the blue Move Up and Move Down arrow icons.

  • Click the red cross icon to delete a selected cable type.

Type

Drop-down to select the cable type.

  • Cables are used to connect substations to in-pit infrastructure, such as switches.

  • Site grids are optional but can be used to understand how and where power is being used across the mine.

  • Note: If Substations/Chargers are connected to multiple grids, ATS will report the usage to the first grid in the list.

Slack Factor Value to account for extra cable length required to account for cables running on natural ground and not laid out perfectly straight.
Color

The color used to display cables in the Network.

Note: If a segment contains multiple cable types, then the color of the ‘highest’ cable type is used in the display.
