Expand Grid

On the Grid tab, in the Utility group: Click Expand Grid to expand a grid outwards by a specified amount. (Ctrl+Alt+G,A)

This utility will expand a grid outwards by a specified number of grid points. You can either overwrite the existing grid or output to a new grid. The Z values of the expanded grid points are derived by averaging the Z values of neighbouring points.

  1. Use the drop-down control to select the Initial Grid (the grid to be expanded).

  2. Use the Point Count spin controls to set the number of grid points to expand by.

  3. Select the Include Diagonals check box to expand diagonally as well as orthogonally.

  4. Select the Fill holes check box to fill any holes created by the process.

  1. Use the drop-down to select an Output Grid.

    Tip: In the Grid Selection pane, you can right-click on the Grids node (or a folder) to Add a New (empty) grid.

  1. Click Apply to process the Initial grid.

  2. Open the Output Grid to view the expanded grid:

If necessary: On the Design tab, in the Action group, click Undo (CTRL + Z) and Redo (CTRL + Y) to undo and redo (revert) the last action.
