Options
The Options tab of the Constrain Block Model to Pit Shell form provides fields to configure the price of the commodity for mining, the recovery percentage and the costs involved, to assist in reporting Reasonable Prospects for Economic Extraction (RPEE).
Commodity price
Enter the price of the commodity to be mined in the field provided. You can accept the default Units for the price ($/ oz/t), select from the available units or select a Custom unit.
Metallurgical recovery (%)
Enter the estimated percentage of the commodity recovered from the pit. This value is defaulted to 100%.
Alternatively, click the = symbol and use the Редактор выражений to build an expression to calculate the value.
Mining Cost
Enter the cost per unit for mining the commodity. The default unit is $/ t, and you can accept the default or change to an available or custom unit. You can click the = symbol and use the Редактор выражений to build an expression to calculate the value.
Alternatively, click the = symbol and use the Редактор выражений to build an expression to calculate the value.
Processing Cost
Enter the cost per unit for processing the commodity. The default unit is $/ t. Accept the default, or select an available or custom unit. You can click the = symbol and use the Редактор выражений to build an expression to calculate the value.
Alternatively, click the = symbol and use the Редактор выражений to build an expression to calculate the value.
Pit Slope Angle
Enter the overall Pit Slope Anglein degrees. The value must be between 0 and 90 degrees.
For RPEE purposes, the Pit Slope Angle affects the economic viability of the pit, with some deposits being too deep to mine.
Break even cut-off grade
The Break even cut-off grade value is calculated from the configured cost and price information and displayed at the bottom of the tab.
The formula for calculation of the Break even cut-off grade value, with appropriate unit conversions applied as required, is:
(Mining cost + Processing cost) / (Commodity price * Metallurgical Recovery)
