Pitram 3D
Pitram 3D utilises Vizex to provide a multi-layered interactive screen display of mining operations.
Prerequisites
It is assumed that any user of the Pitram 3D application will have:
- A working knowledge of Micromine Origin & Beyond Vizex.
The Pitram 3D display will typically comprise multiple layers, with each layer representing a particular data set — for example, topographic contours, an aerial photograph of the mine, polygons that represent ore zones, etc.
CAD/GIS, wireframe, block model, and other types of layer - data as diverse as soil sampling points, road strings and mine designs - can be used to build a comprehensive and up-to-date picture of activity on site.
It is important to understand how to manage and manipulate these layers and make full use of the many Vizex tools and options.
The Visual Explorer is a display environment that allows for the display and manipulation of spatial objects in two dimensions or three dimensions (3D).
Menus, Toolbars and Panes allow you to load data into the display, manipulate the display, and manage display layers.
Form Sets pane. The Form Sets pane contains the data elements you want to load into the display (e.g. aerial photos, zone outlines, equipment symbols etc.). The parameters you enter to determine how the data will be displayed, can be saved as a form set and recalled.
Display pane. Think of the Display pane as an object manager which allows you to manipulate multiple display layers. These layers will typically be your equipment groups, zone outlines, and a georeferenced aerial photograph of the mine.
Views. The display layers that you create in Vizex can be saved as a view. A Saved view might contain an aerial photograph of the mine site, a layer which shows the location of equipment, and a layer which shows the zone outlines configured to control material movements.
- an understanding of the concept of Micromine forms and form sets.
In Micromine Origin & Beyond, most functions require the user to define a set of control parameters in a special kind of dialog that is known as a form. Parameters are usually selected from a valid list of options and default values are provided.
When a form is opened it defaults to the last values used. One of the key features of Micromine Origin & Beyond is the ability to save or load the contents of a form as a form set.
- someone available on site, typically a Pitram Administrator, who has access to the Pitram Reference Edit service.
Before you can view Pitram groups in Vizex, the equipment, locations, people, zones, and waypoints you will be working with must be defined as reference groups.
By accessing the coordinates recorded for mobile devices fitted with GPS, or devices which are part of an RF tagging system, Pitram 3D is able to display and update the movements of equipment and people at, and between, locations.
