Project

To view and manage the projects you regularly use, click the Project tab to open the backstage menu.

Before you open a project, you will see a sortable list of attached projects (when you Attach a project you make it visible to the application). Their metadata, which includes the project path, date created, date last opened, and title appears on the backstage page.

You can open a project in the list by double clicking:

Close the current project:

Select an option from the drop-down menu (or the navigation pane):

Search

On the Open Project tab of the backstage menu you can simply start typing to search for a project of interest. The text you type is automatically entered into the Search box and the list of projects is restricted to those projects with a name that matches or partially matches the text you have entered.

Thumbnail View

If you have generated a thumbnail for a project (on the Home tab, in the Projects group, select Project | Generate Thumbnail), the thumbnail is shown when you select a project in the list of attached projects:

When you work with a large number of projects, a thumbnail is useful way of identifying a project visually by associating it with a representation of the data in that project.

Alternatively, select an option on the Home tab, in the Projects group,

You can also select and open (Attach, Detach, Delete, Move, Rename) a project, or create a New project. Use the buttons provided or select an option from the right-click menu.

You can also right-click on a project and select an option to Project Explorer Pane the project folder for that project.

On the Window tab, in the Panes group: Click Project Explorer to hide/show the Project Explorer pane. Use the Project Explorer pane to explore the files and folders of the current project.

When the location of a project has changed and the project is listed as invalid (shown in red), you can click the Browse button to the right of the project name and navigate to the new location of the project. The project will be re-attached at that location.

Alternatively, missing projects can either be detached or deleted (sent to the Recycle bin).

Sort

Projects can be sorted by clicking on the header of the (Name, Title, Date Last Opened, Date Last Modified, Date Created) column you want to sort by.

You may need to use the horizontal scroll bar, or resize the Manager window, to see all project attributes.

Search

When you enter a valid Search string in the Search box, the grid is updated dynamically. The list of projects is restricted to those with project names that include a match or a partial match the Search string.
