Stope Results Chart

On the Mining tab, in the Resource Optimisation group, select Stope Optimiser | Results Chart to chart the results from the optimisation and analysis.

The Stope Optimiser processes the block model of the mine and identifies the configuration of blocks that maximises the total value of extracted stopes that meet specified design criteria.

The Stope Optimiser > Analyse Stopes option analyses the effects of time on potential extraction sequences. As part of this process, each extracted block is allocated to period(s) in which it is deemed to be mined.

Input Data

Use the Results Chart > Input Data tab to select the mine optimisation database that contains the optimisation results to be analysed and to specify the data series that are to be included in the chart.

Mine Optimisation Database

Select the mine optimisation database that contains the optimisation results to be analysed.

X Axis

Select the value to be plotted on the X (horizontal) axis of the chart.

The following options are supported here:

Value Description

Stage

(Stope Optimisation only) Stage number assigned by the Mine > Definition > Design > Staging option.

Values for all data series are CUMULATIVE.

Period

Time period assigned to mined blocks by the Analyse Pits or Analyse Stopes option.

Optimisation Scenarios

Specify the following settings for each data series that is to be included in the chart:

Series

Select the series to be included in the chart.

The following data series can be included and will be added to the chart in the order in which they are specified in the grid list:

Data Series Options Unit Description

Cashflow

Currency

Cumulative sum of discounted net revenues (= revenue – costs; converted to present value by applying discount rate(s)) accrued up to and including the current stage/period. Equivalent to cumulative net present value (NPV).

Cashflow (Undiscounted)

Currency

Cumulative sum of undiscounted net revenues (= revenue – costs; excluding effect of discount rates(s)) accrued up to and including the current stage/period.

Present Value

Currency

Net revenue derived from current stage/period, converted to present value by applying discount rate(s).

Volume

Waste / Ore / Total

Volume

Volume of selected classification of material mined in current stage/period.

Tonnage

Waste / Ore / Total

Large Mass

Tonnage of selected classification of material mined in current stage/period.

Strip Ratio

Volume / Tonnage

Scalar

Ratio of ore to waste for selected classification of material mined in current stage/period.

Grade

Element

Grade

Grade of selected element for current stage/period.

Metal

Element

Small Mass

Mass of selected element from current stage/period.

Revenue

Element

Currency

Revenue from selected element in current stage/period.

Cost

Waste / Ore / Total

Currency

Cost of mining selected classification of material in current stage/period.

Up to two (2) vertical (Y) axes with different units of measurement can be included in the chart. Data series with common units share the same axes. Data series are assigned to axes in the order in which they are specified in the grid list. Once the available axes have been utilised, it will not be possible to add data series with different units to the chart.

Example: Cashflow and Present Value use units of currency and can share the same axis – these will be assigned to the left vertical axis of the chart. If Volume, which uses different units, is added to the chart, it will be assigned to the right axis. Following these selections, it will be possible to include only those data series that use units of currency or volume in the chart.

Case

Select the case for which the data series is to be included in the chart.

Material Bin

(Series dependent.) Select the material bin for which the data series is to be included in the chart.

Option

(Series dependent.) Select the category for which the values for the data series are to be extracted.

Example: To include the data series for the volume of ore, set Series = Volume and Option = Ore. Alternatively, to include the data series for the revenue derived from Gold, set Series = Revenue and Option = Gold.

Style

(Series dependent.) Select the style of chart to be used for the data series.

The following styles are available for the various data series:

Series Style Description

Cashflow

Line

Connects data points with line segments.

Cashflow (Undiscounted)

Area

Line chart with areas below coloured.

Present Value

Stacked Area

Area chart showing values as proportion of total.

Revenue

Step Line

Vertical and horizontal lines used to produce step-like progression.

Cost

Strip Ratio

Step Area

Step line chart with areas below coloured.

Grade

Series

Description

Volume

Bar

Values presented as rectangular vertical bars with proportional heights.

Tonnage

Metal

Stacked Bar

Bar chart showing values as proportion of total.

Tip: Since the data series are added to the chart in the order in which they are specified in the grid list, data series with line styles that are included early may be obscured by those with area and bar styles that are included later. You can use the Up and Down buttons at the top right of the grid list to change the order in which the data series are included in the chart.

Divisor

Specify the amount by which the value for each point in the data series should be divided before being included in the chart.

Example: To chart values expressed in millions of dollars for Series = Cashflow, set Divisor = 1000000.

Tip: Although this value can affect scaling of values on the axis, it is not used as the scaling factor for the axis directly. If you are charting both Cashflow and Cashflow (Undiscounted), you must set Divisor appropriately for each data series before the axis scaling will be affected.

Colour

Select the colour to be used for the chart of the data series.
