Import Reference Grid/Folder

When you convert a project grid to a reference grid, the grid data is no longer stored in the project/model database. Instead, the grid data is loaded directly from a referenced (*.grd) file.

To import multiple reference grids:

  1. Right-click on the Grid node or a Grid folder in the Design Data pane and select Import Reference Grid Folder.

  2. You will be prompted to navigate to a Folder containing the reference grids you want to import (the default folder is the current project folder).

All reference grid files in the selected folder and subfolders are imported. The parent folder and subfolders (if any) are also replicated under the Grid node or the Grid folder that was right-clicked when selecting the Import Grid Folder command. If grids of the same name already exist, a numeric suffix is added to the names of the imported grids.

To import a single reference grid:

  1. Right-click on the Grid node or a Grid folder in the Design Data pane and select Import Reference Grid.

  2. You will be prompted to navigate to the location of the (*.grd) reference grid file you want to import (defaults to the current project folder).

The selected grid file is imported under the Grid node or the Grid folder that was right-clicked when selecting the Import Grid command. If a grid of the same name already exists, a numeric suffix is added to the name of the imported grid.

When you delete a reference grid in the Design Data pane, only the reference to the grid file is removed. The grid file itself is not deleted.
