Create Text

On the Shape tab, in the Add group: Click Text to add one or more Text elements to the active layer of the Design Window. (Ctrl+D,T)

When you create Text, the Properties of that Text will vary depending on the Caption Type.

Text Type

Caption Type

Choose whether the caption is plain TEXT or a static text string derived from an EXPRESSION.

Type	Description
Text	The caption text is manually entered or pasted..
Expression	The caption text is evaluated from an expression and does not subsequently change. Click on the ellipsis to use the Expression Editor to generate a Caption Expression:

Colour

Use the drop-down to select a Colour for the Text.

Font

Use the drop-down to select a Font for the Text.

Align to View

Select Align to View to align the Text with the current Camera View. Note that the Text is aligned in Plan View if this check box is not selected.

Height

Set the Height of the Text (in points).

Rotation

Set the Rotation of the text (0° to 360°) or accept the default (no rotation).

Vertical Alignment

Set the (Near, Centre, Far) Vertical Alignment of the Text.

Horizontal Alignment

Set the (Near, Centre, Far) Horizontal Alignment of the Text.

Z Offset

Set a Z Offset to adjust the elevation of the Text or accept the default (no offset).

Select Point

As you hover the mouse over the Design Window or the Animation, a Preview of the text (based upon the parameters you have specified) is shown.

Click to select the point at which to position the text. You can click multiple times to add the same text at multiple locations. Right-click the mouse (or press ESC) to finish.

Delete

Click to select a Text element and press Delete on your keyboard. You can also select Delete from the right-click menu. Hold down the CTRL key or the SHIFT key as you click the mouse to select multiple Text elements.
