Speed Monitoring

Speed Monitoring functionality has been added to Pitram Mobile. The speed of equipment units travelling between zones is monitored and an alarm is raised and displayed on the mobile screen, and in Data Acquisition, whenever the speed limit for a zone is broken.

Speeding reports are able to be generated by the system. In addition, speed-related payload data (vehicle speed and heading) is able to be posted to the Pitram 3D screen via PRIS.

Application of the Speed Limit Configuration

Each speed limit can be filtered out based on the zone, equipment model and function. When determining the speed limit in effect the framework will look for all available speed limits that match the criteria and use the speed limit with the lowest speed limit value.

This means that the equipment hierarchy normally used in Pitram will be ignored when the Speed Limit Configuration is applied.

Speed Limit Zone Configuration

The speed limit must have a zone configured, either through the Zone or ZoneActiveList attributes of the SpeedLimit configuration item. Speed Limits are a special case in that an empty string for the active list does not imply all zones. This has been done to lessen issues on site where Speed Limits are incorrectly applied to zones due to incorrect configuration.
