Polyline
The Polyline tool is used to select part of a bench to create a polyline constraint in your design.
The polyline variable constraint is different from the Polygon Zone in that it will not extrude up/down (beyond a small amount). Instead it will extrude left and right (into the pit void, and into the pit wall) so that any vertical shifting of the actual pit strings is accounted for.
When you click the Polyline tool, you will be prompted to select the bench polyline in your design:
Select the part of the bench you want to use to create the polyline constraint and click Accept.
The newly created polyline will be listed in the Variable Constraints grid and you can modify the details of the polyline in the Polyline Constraint form, opened from the More button:
Batter slope and Berm width values for the constraint can be entered directly or calculated using an Expression by clicking the Equals icon. If either of these values is blank, the Batter slope / Berm width values will be taken from the Bench level. If the Bench level for either field is also blank, the values will be taken from the defaults on the Input Data tab of the Input Data form.
With the polyline selected in the pit design, the Properties pane displays Data and Display properties for the constraint:
You can make changes to the polyline constraint directly in the Properties pane where applicable.
