Sample Tracker

Getting Started

Sample Tracker tracks the activities and information related to the despatch and receipt of samples. Sample assay data and related metadata are stored and managed.

In order to comply with JORC Code standards (as prescribed by AusIMM and by the Australian Stock Exchange Listing Rules) exploration companies are expected to be able to demonstrate the reliability of their sampling results. This depends on the availability of metadata pertaining to sample preparation techniques and laboratory assay methods.

Sample Tracker is not only able to store and manage sample assay data and its related metadata, it can also generate the charts and reports needed for quality control and quality assurance purposes.

How to Use Sample Tracker?

The User Interface | Sample Tracker node of the Configuration Manager is host to despatch and receipt objects which can be configured in much the same way as exports and imports.

The Sample Tracker objects you configure here can be included in macros along with queries, import specifications, export specifications, and reports, etc. This allows the despatch and receipt processes to be highly customised.

The Sample Tracker Data Model

All database table names and column names can be mapped to user synonyms using the Micromine Geobank mapping tables. However, the database structure itself remains fixed. In other words, ALL standard Sample Tracker tables and columns must be mapped to equivalent user tables and fields.
