Wireframe Type
A wireframe type is a name used to categorise a wireframe. All wireframes, no matter what the type, are the same - collections of triangles, attributes and metadata. Each wireframe type will have its own set of attributes, which describe the type of features (i.e. pit shell, topography etc.) represented by the wireframe.
There are several pre-defined wireframe types. Together these will cover most of the natural features you will meet. Each wireframe type is stored in its own triangulation database (*.tridb) file, and has its own attributes.
Select a wireframe type
The selection of a wireframe type is required when you:
-
Click Manage Types on the Wireframe tab, in the Manage group, to open the Wireframe Types Manager.
-
Click Attributes on the Wireframe tab, in the Manage group, to manage the attributes of a type.
Create a wireframe type
If necessary you can create your own wireframe types by selecting Manage Types > New on the Wireframe tab, in the Manage group.
Examples of predefined wireframe types are:
Alteration |
Ore |
Fault |
Lithology Boundary |
Pit |
Underground |
Opencut |
Stope |
Rock Model |
Mineralisation |
Extrude * |
Natural |
DTM |
Boolean |
Grade Shells |
|
*The Extrude type has special predefined attributes.
Copy as type
In some cases, it may be desirable to maintain more than one type of a wireframe object.
You can copy a wireframe object as a new wireframe type using a button provided on the Manage Wireframes form. Any wireframe object you copy will inherit the attributes of the new type.
Move to type
You can move an existing wireframe object to a new wireframe type using a button provided on the Manage Wireframes form. If you move a wireframe object under a new type, it will inherit the attributes of the new type and will no longer be listed under its former type.
Edit wireframe attributes
You can edit the attributes of the selected type by clicking the Edit Attributes button on the Manage Types form.
Locating a wireframe type
When a wireframe type is loaded in Vizex and is located in a project subfolder, the name of the subfolder is shown in the file prompt, and in the Property Window:
