Form Set Upgrades
Form sets, which contain the saved parameters used in forms, are saved to a FLDVAL*.BDB (SQLite database) file located in your project folder. From Micromine Origin & Beyond version 23.0 onwards, the same BDB file is maintained across different versions of the application and individual form sets are upgraded on-the-fly.
If you are working in a previous version of the application, a form set version warning message may appear when you open a form set that has been upgraded in a more recent version. For more information, see: Form Set Version Warnings
Open an existing project in the current version
To open an existing project in the current version simply open the project as normal. Note that individual form sets are only upgraded and written back to the database as and when those form sets are opened, modified and saved.
Accessing Backups
Form set database backup files are created automatically on a periodic basis or whenever the application is updated to a newer version.
To access form sets created or modified in previous versions, use the Form Set Manager | Manage Backups utility (on the Home tab, in the Forms group).
Exchanging Form Sets for Backward/Forward Compatibility
Note that since the same form set database is being used, you no longer need to export and then import form sets in order to share forms between versions 22, 22.5 and 23, and all future versions.
Older Versions
If your workplace includes older versions and you wish to interchange form sets, you will need to use the steps outlined in: Exchanging Older Version Form Sets
