Locations
A location is any place from which material is removed, or to which material is delivered. Examples are:
- a primary mining face
- a stockpile
- an ore pass
- a crusher/hoisting system
- a workshop
- a fuel point
Before material movements can be recorded, these locations must be configured using the Reference Data service.
In the case of ore movements, the flow type of a location should be categorised as either Primary (only a source of the material) or Intermediate (both a destination and a source).
Once locations have been configured, the inventory associated with those locations at the end of each shift is stored in the Materials Management database. The following information can be tracked:
- where material is being mined
- where material is being dumped
- the haul distances between locations
- where equipment is positioned at the start or end of a shift.
