Add a location

You can add new locations using the Reference Data service.

  1. Select Pitram | Locations from the selection tree in the left-hand menu bar.
  2. In the main window, select Check Out All then click on the Location table.

  3. Click New to open the Create New Location dialog.

  4. Enter an appropriate Code, Description and Abbreviation.

    These entries must match the validation rules set up for this location type.

  5. Select appropriate values for all the required attributes (see below) and (optionally) any other listed attributes.

  6. Select the Active Lists tab and associate the new location with the relevant active lists.

Required Attributes

Required attributes are displayed in red with an asterisk after the name, for example:

For further information about one of the following attribute types, click on that item:

If the CapOp attribute is present, you need to indicate whether the location is classified as a Capital (tax deductible) or an Operating (non-tax deductible) cost. If the DevPrd attribute is present, you need to classify the location as being either a Development or a Production location. The DevPrd attribute is required by Materials Management reports, otherwise they may return no data.
