Activate a Dongle (Security Key)

Before using a Marx dongle (Security Key) to activate a licence, please ensure that the dongle drivers are installed. If required, Marx dongle drivers can be downloaded via the link.

Note: After the drivers are installed, the dongle must be unplugged completely and replugged in order for Windows® to properly initialise the dongle.

After installing the application and the dongle drivers, please ensure your dongle is plugged into a working USB port and the red light is illuminated.

You may then proceed with instructions to activate your dongle. Depending on the message displayed by the application, please follow the instructions provided.

Option 1:

The application opens with the message: New Dongle Discovered

  1. Click Activate the dongle. Then click Next.
  2. Fill out the online form (if required) and click Next, Next and Finish.
  3. The application will re-start.

Option 2:

The application opens with the message: Dongle Not Found

  1. Follow the troubleshoot steps described here: Licence Dongle Not Detected
  2. If problems persist contact licensing support.

Option 3:

The application opens with the message: Licence your installation

  1. Click Next, then enter your details
  2. Fill out the online form and click Next, then confirm the data you have entered to complete the process.
  3. The application will relaunch automatically.

Option 4:

The application opened without a message.

  1. Open Micromine Origin & Beyond 2025.
  2. Click the Project tab to open the backstage menu and select Licence Activation | Activate a Dongle Licence
  3. Click Next. Fill out the online form and click Next, then confirm the data you have entered to complete the process.

If you wish to share a licence, simply plug your dongle into an additional computer.

  1. Open Micromine Origin & Beyond 2025.
  2. Click on Activate the dongle. Then click on Next.
  3. Fill out the online form if required and click on Next, Next and Finish.
  4. The application will start.
