Calendar Templates

Calendar Templates allow calendars to be shared between different operational schedules without having to re-configure them each time.

Note that calendars can be defined for Operational schedules only. When a Strategic schedule is loaded, the Calendars group will not appear on the Schedule tab.

I have created a calendar in a schedule and would like to use the same calendar in another project and schedule. How do I do this?

There are two options:

1. Save a Calendar Template for re-use

To make calendar templates available in different projects:

  1. On the Scheduling | Schedule tab, in the Calendar group: Click Calendars.

  2. Note that calendars can be defined for Operational schedules only. When a Strategic schedule is loaded, the Calendars group will not appear on the Schedule tab.

  1. The calendars you have created are shown as a list of items at the left-hand side of the Manage Calendars dialog. Select the calendar you want to save as a template and click the Templates button:

  1. In the Templates window, click Save:

  1. Accept the default (or enter a name for the saved calendar template) and click OK:

The saved template is added to the list of templates, The name of the template, the schedule in which the calendar was originally saved and the date and time the template was created, are shown:

  1. Click Close to return to the Manage Calendars dialog.

Open a Calendar Template

Calendar templates are saved to your User Profile Folder:

%allusersprofile%\Micromine\Micromine\Environment

This means they can be opened in the same or a different project. To open a template:

  1. On the Scheduling | Schedule tab, in the Calendar group: Click Calendars.

  1. Click the Templates button:

  1. Existing calendar templates are listed in the Templates dialog. Select a template from the list and click Open:

A new calendar object is added to the list of calendars in the Manage Calendars dialog:

You can add a calendar from the same template multiple times and edit each instance. A numeric suffix is used to differentiate between multiple copies of a template:

2. Export and then import an operational schedule

To make calendar templates available to users on different machines:

  1. On the Mining tab, in the Scheduling group: Click Export Package to export the database, task wireframes and configuration files for a schedule to a single (.mmschedulere) file that can be transferred between different projects, workstations and sites

If a Schedule is already open, this option is available on the Scheduling | Schedule tab, in the Schedule group. Select Save As | Export Package.

  1. In the new project:

  2. On the Mining tab, in the Scheduling group: Click Import Package to import a schedule that has previously been exported using the Export Package option.

If a Schedule is already open, this option is available on the Scheduling | Schedule tab, in the Schedule group. Select Open | Import Package.

  1. The Calendars in the imported schedule can be saved as a template and opened in another project. See: 1. Save a Calendar Template for re-use
