Pit optimisation algorithm
Advanced Options in the Open Pit Mine Setup form allow you to select between the following algorithms:
| Algorithm | Description |

| Default | The recommended (default) algorithm is currently LG/LL Improved (see below). |
| LG/LL | Lerchs Grossman Lowest Label (LG/LL) |
| Since it was written for 32 bit systems, the LG/LL algorithm provides less memory and less performance, but can be used as a fall-back option or to compare results against newer algorithms. | |
| LG/LL Improved | An improved approach to the LG/LL algorithm is designed take advantage of multi-core processing and the 64-bit architecture of modern computers. |
| A performance improvement of around 30% is anticipated. |
