Notebook Navigation

Each notebook data frame contains a dataset and a dataset navigator bar which allows you to move easily through the displayed dataset when browsing or editing your data.

When a data view is opened, the current row number is displayed and you have the option of setting the maximum number of rows to display, refreshing the dataset display and updating the row count.

As well as using the mouse to move between rows and fields in a data view, pressing the Enter key will navigate to the next row, adding a new row if necessary.

When you choose one of the navigator buttons, the appropriate action occurs on the dataset the navigator bar is linked to. For example, if the user clicks the Insert button, a blank row is inserted into the dataset.

The following buttons are provided:

First Sets the current row to the first row in the dataset, disables the First and Previous buttons, and enables the Next and Last buttons.
Previous Sets the current row to the previous row and enables the Last and Next buttons.
Next Sets the current row to the next row and enables the First and Previous buttons. Note that pressing the Enter key will also navigate to the next row, adding a new row if necessary.
Last Sets the current row to the last row in the dataset, disables the Last and Next buttons, and enables the First and Previous buttons.
Previous Master If the dataset is a Detail dataset, sets the current row of the Master dataset to the previous row.
Next Master If the dataset is a Detail dataset, sets the current row of the Master dataset to the next row.
