Washability Equations

Data View: Curve Fit Equations

Each term comprises a constant, a known value (at a given RD) and an exponent:

Y = C1*Xe1 + C2*Xe2 + ... + Cn*Xen

Equation ranking occurs within each set of calculated parameters. In our example above, the FLOAT_YIELD parameters are ranked from 1 - 4.

Equations have a ranking to indicate relative accuracy. If the required values at RD 1.40 are available, the application will use equation 1. If not, the application will try equation 2; and so on.

The E in the metadata for the standardised Ash value at RD 1.35 above indicates that it was extrapolated using an equation - and is therefore of questionable accuracy.

So what is the purpose of these calculations?

The resulting washability matrix can be used to calculate wash tables and generate wash curves.
