Battery Fleets
Allows Battery Electric trucks to change battery configurations over time.
Battery Fleets & Battery Fleet Options

Name |
Automatically populated based on the Truck Types step. |
|
Opening Charge Count |
The number of battery life cycles the current batteries installed in the fleet have completed. 0 = New fleet. A fleet with 10 trucks, each with a battery with 1000 battery life cycles. Setting the opening charge count to 9000, then on average each truck will have 10% of their battery life cycles remaining. |
| Battery Schedule |
|
|
Start Date |
Date when new battery type will be used in schedule. |
|
Nominal Capacity |
Designed max capacity of battery. |
|
Usable Capacity |
Refers to capacity of the battery which will be used. Example: To preserve battery life, some batteries might be recommended to only be charged to 90%. For operational purposes the trucks will recharge at 20%. This means the Usable capacity might only be 70% of the nominal capacity. Usable Capacity will degrade over time based on number of recharges as well any Battery Regen due to braking or trolleys. Basic Example: Battery has usable capacity of 1000 kWh and Battery Life Cycles of 100. After 10 charges, usable capacity will be reduced to 900 kWh. This example is only to demonstrate battery degradation, no regen was considered. |
|
End Capacity |
Battery Capacity at the time of replacement. |
|
Battery Life Cycles |
The number of full cycles (full discharge and recharge) until battery degrades from its starting capacity to its ending capacity. |
|
Add Truck Battery |
Determines the battery charge level of new trucks when they are added to the fleet.

Capacity Calculation |
Fleet Battery Capacity per Period (faster) – Cycle times will be calculated using the average battery capacity at the end of previous period. This means the cycle times will remain constant throughout the period and not be recalculated every movement to account for battery degradation. Battery degradation will still be applied at the end of each period. Fleet Battery Capacity per Haul (slow for many hauls) – Cycle times are recalculated for every movement to take battery degradation into account. Note this can result in a large CT cache file and high memory usage.

Use Actual Trucks when calculating Capacity |
This is an advanced feature which should only be used for long term schedules where the number of required trucks is unknown. Schedule will be ran twice:

Fleets are triggered by Agents via the Steps Logic.
