Move Point

On the Shape tab, in the Move/Copy group: Click Move Point to move points, move points on segments, move points by Z value, or move points on shapes that intersect. (Ctrl+M,S)

You can move points, move the Z position of points, or move points at intersections by selecting those options from the application ribbon or the right-click menu, however the Move Point tool allows you to do all three in one design action.

Points

Select Move Points as the Move mode:

  1. Select the point or segment to be moved.

A preview shows the new position of the point as you drag the mouse:

If a segment is selected, the tool will snap to the segment at that point. A preview shows the updated segment as you move the point on, or in this example, away from the segment:

Click to accept the new position of the point/segment.

Point Z

Select Move Point Z as the Move mode:

  1. Select a shape.

  2. Enter or use the increment controls to specify a Z (elevation) value. A positive or negative value will adjust the elevation up or down, respectively.

  3. (Optionally) select the Relative check box to apply the entered Z value relative to the current elevation. When this check box is unselected, Z is an absolute value.

  4. Select a point on the shape to move that point by the specified Z value.

  5. Repeat Step 4 to move successive points.

Point at Intersection

Select Move Point at Intersection as the Move mode:

  1. Pick the shape.

  2. Select the point you want to move.

  3. Click and drag to move the point.

A preview of the new position of the point is shown.

The position of the point on every shape that shares that intersection is also moved:
