Manage Wireframes
The same option is available on the Home tab, in the Wireframes group. See also: Manage Wireframes (Context Menu)
Look in
By default, the wireframes in the current project folder are displayed in the Wireframe Manager. Click on the ellipsis button to navigate to another folder. You can navigate to any folder, not just a project folder.
When you click on any part of the “Look In” filepath, a history of the 5 most recent folders is provided. The most recent folder location is shown by default. If necessary, you can edit the filepath you have selected.
The current project folder [Project] is the default filepath. A relative path is shown when the filepath is a sub folder of the current project folder. An absolute filepath is shown when the filepath is outside the current project folder.
Select the Include subfolders check box to also look in the subfolders of the current folder.
Wireframe types are listed in alphabetical order. Click the Plus or Minus box to expand or collapse an individual node. When you expand a node, the wireframes of that type are listed in the object tree. The standard attributes of each wireframe can be viewed and edited. You can also select Expand All or Collapse All from the right-click menu to expand or collapse all nodes.
Show common User Attributes
This option is useful if you have wireframe types in a sub folder which all have the same user attributes.
When this option is selected, the .tridb files in the current folder are scanned to determine a set of user attributes that are common between them.
These common attributes are then appended to the columns in the Wireframe Manager. These user-defined columns are editable, sortable, and searchable.
Search
You can enter Wireframe Search keywords to restrict the list of wireframes to those wireframe types, wireframe sets, and wireframes that match or partially match the Search string.
In the following example, a search on Δs (the number of triangulations) limits the list to wireframes with less than 50 triangulations:
The text of the Search string will turn red when the search syntax is incorrect. Wildcards are not supported.
Calculate
Wireframe operations that calculate the volume, surface area, and plan silhouette area of a wireframe will automatically save those values as attributes which are visible in the Manager window.
You can also calculate the surface area, plan silhouette area, and (where applicable) volume of a wireframe, by selecting a Calculate Volume and Surface Area menu option from the right-click menu.
Sort (Wireframe Types)
You can click on the Name, Δs and Date Modified column headings to sort wireframe TYPES by that column.
The Date Modified column allows wireframe TYPES listed in the Manager window to be sorted by the most (or least) recently modified wireframe each type contains.
As a result, most recently used (or no longer used) wireframe types can be quickly identified:
Sort (Wireframes per Type)
You can click on a column heading to sort the WIREFRAMES of a selected Type by that column. Clicking on the Δs (number of triangulations) column heading, for example, will toggle between an ascending and a descending sort order:
Change Colour
Right-click and select the Change Colour menu option to open a palette of standard colours and change the default display colour of a wireframe. See: Change Colour
Change Hatch
Right-click and select the Change Hatch menu option to open a hatch dialog and change the default hatching of a wireframe. See: Change Hatch
Delete
Select a wireframe and then click the Delete button (or right-click and select Delete) to deletea wireframe or a wireframe type.
To delete all the wireframes of a type, select the type (or a wireframe of that type) and right-click and select Delete All Wireframes.
Rename
Click the Rename button (or right-click and select Rename) to rename the wireframe or the wireframe type you have selected.
Copy
Right-click on a wireframe and select Copy (or select a wireframe and click the Copy button) to copy that wireframe as a wireframe of the same type or a different type. In some cases, it may be desirable to maintain more than one type of a wireframe object. Any wireframe object you copy will inherit the attributes of the new type.
You can also Copy as a new wireframe type.
Move
Right-click on a wireframe and select Move (or select a wireframe and click the Move button) to move a selected wireframe object to a new wireframe type. If you move a wireframe object under a new type, it will inherit the attributes of the new type and will no longer be listed under its former type.
Compact
Click the Compact button to compact a selected wireframe. A repair operation is performed automatically during compaction.
Optimise
If access to the geometric properties of one or more wireframe types is slow, click the Optimise button to optimise them. The optimisation process will rebuild the topology, remove unused points, and compact the database for each wireframe type.
Properties
When a single wireframe is selected in the manager, click Properties to view the attributes and metadata of the wireframe. See: Wireframe Properties
When a wireframe type is selected in the manager, click Properties to edit or add attributes for the wireframe type. See: Manage Wireframe Types
New Type
Click the New Type button to create a new wireframe type. See: New
Report
Click the Report button to generate report for the wireframes of a selected type, or for one or more selected wireframes, and write them to a Report file. See: Report
Validate
Click Validate to validate the wireframes in a wireframe set, or validate a single wireframe. See: Validate Wireframe
Display Selected
To load each selected wireframe in Vizex as a separate layer, click the Display button (or right-click on the selection and select Display | Selected from the right-click menu).
Invert Selection (Within tridb)
To make multiple selections easier, an Invert Selection option is available on the right-click menu. Note that this applies to selected wireframes of the same (parent) type.
Create Wireframe Set
Click Create Wireframe Set to load selected wireframes into the Manage Wireframe Sets form. You can then edit and save the wireframe set.
- If the wireframe type (parent nodes) are collapsed and one or more types are selected, then the wireframes within each type are loaded as a separate row in the Manage Wireframe Sets form.
- If a wireframe type (parent node) is expanded and the selection includes that type, but only some of the wireframes within it, only the selected wireframes are loaded into the Manage Wireframe Sets form.
Edit User Attributes
Click Edit User Attributes to add, rename or remove user attributes for a wireframe type, based on the current selection.
Close
Click the Close button to close the Wireframe Manager.
Manage Wireframes (Context Menu)
Note that a "Manage Wireframes" context menu is accessible in any form that allows the selection of a Wireframe Type:
This makes it possible to quickly delete a wireframe, or perform other wireframe operations, without having to close the form:
