Wireframing (Validation)
On the Wireframing tab of the Project Options | Vizex form, set the following display options for Wireframing:
Construction colour
Select the Colour that will be applied to the faces of the wireframes when you are editing.
Validate Wireframe Options
Check self-intersection
When this validation option is selected, the Validate function will check for intersecting triangles in the wireframe. Double click to select the Highlight colour that will be used to highlight self-intersecting triangles.
Check closure
When this validation option is selected, the Validate function will check that each surface is closed. If you do not need to check for closure, for example, when you have triangulated a fault, select the Check self-intersection option only. Double click to select the Highlight colour that will be used to highlight a surface that is not closed.
Check degenerate triangles
When this validation option is selected, the Validate function will check for triangles that have very small edges (1.0e-6). When an edge is this small, double precision errors may cause wild changes in the faces calculated normal, which in turn cause inconsistencies in other calculations such as volume. Double click to select the Highlight colour that will be used to highlight degenerate triangles.
Validate DTM Options
Auto-Detect DTM Plane
When this validation option is selected, a check is made to ensure that the triangle faces of a DTM all point roughly in the same direction and have the same sign. Select the DTM view plane that will be used for the validation. Any triangles that fail the DTM test are highlighted using the Highlight colour selected here.
